About the project
Forest 4 Forestdale is a community not-for-profit based in Forestdale, Logan City, dedicated to protecting and celebrating the natural environment in their neighbourhood. The organisation works to preserve Forestdale's remarkable nature and mature trees – some up to 200 years old – through community education, advocacy, events, and citizen science.
Alicia came to us with a logo and a gorgeous set of hand-drawn illustrations by artist Brenna Quinlan. From there, we ran a mini branding process to build out a colour palette – earthy greens and warm natural tones pulled from the existing logo, with pops of bright yellow woven through as animated accents.
For the website, we used our Earth base design – our signature Squarespace design created specifically for not-for-profits and conservation organisations – which made it a natural fit for Forest 4 Forestdale.
The illustrations are sprinkled throughout the pages, playful animations add a sense of life and joy, and the stunning photography by Hannah Puechmarin grounds it all in the real beauty of Forestdale.
We also set up a donations page to support things like native plantings, community workshops, and wildlife monitoring, a membership sign-up form to keep locals connected and in the loop, and an events page where upcoming workshops are listed with links to Humanitix for ticketing.
What we love most is how the site balances warmth and playfulness with something genuinely grounded and purposeful – just like the community it represents.
